Atherton Collieries 0 Ramsbottom United 3: AFTER two excellent league performances, Atherton Colls turned in a below par one, going down 3-0 at home to Ramsbottom United.
The visitors had the better of the early exchanges and Matt Edgington gave them the lead on 12 minutes.
Chances were few and far between with neither goalkeeper really tested. Nick Fisher had a golden opportunity to level the score, but his tame penalty was saved.
Within a few minutes the game erupted with Ramsbottom having Bernard Morley and Michael Saunders sent off in quick succession.
Now it seemed that Colls must get back into the game, but unbelievably further goals from Adam Koslowski and Lee Buggie killed the game off.
It will be a test of character this Saturday when Colls play at Alsager Town. They are at home on Bank Holiday Monday when Formby are the visitors, kick off 3pm.
