Ossett Albion 3 Clitheroe 0
TWO injury time goals gave the home side a slightly flattering scoreline in a game that either side could have won.
Gary Jackson and Paul Stansfield were both denied by the home goalkeeper in the opening half-hour.
But the game was decided by two second half penalties.
A long ball forward from Ossett released Danny Toronczak on the hour. He fell down under the challenge of Kris Richens inside the area and the referee pointed to the spot.
Toronczak duly dusted himself down to slot home the penalty.
Clitheroe were awarded a penalty of their own five minutes later when Jackson was brought down inside the area.
Barrie Hart opted for power with his kick but saw Andy Carney save well low down to his left.
Clitheroe continued to search for an equaliser and both Lee Cryer and Stansfield saw shots hit the post.
As they pushed forward at the death, two counter attacks saw Mick Norbury and Gary Duffy secure three points for the home side.
