JOHN McGreal has challenged Burnley to enjoy next week's mini-break with their unbeaten start to the season still intact.

The Clarets put their impressive five-match run on the line this weekend with a testing trip to promotion favourites West Ham United.

Gillingham then come to Turf Moor on Bank Holiday Monday before Steve Cotterill's men have a welcome 12-day break due to the international calendar.

And influential defender McGreal is urging his team mates to give their all at Upton Park on Saturday and keep the run going.

He said: "There will be no problem lifting ourselves for West Ham on Saturday.

"There will be 30,000 fans there, so it's going to be a fantastic occasion and we are going there in good spirits.

"We're still unbeaten in five league and cup games and we want to remain unbeaten in the next few games so we can go into the break and put the legs up still unbeaten."

McGreal has his own agenda when it comes to West Ham, who dashed Ipswich Town's hopes of making the Premiership in last season's play off semi-final.

He added: "It would be nice to get one over on them.

"They were the better team in the play-offs. But this is a totally different team and hopefully we can go there and do the business."
