THE MAYOR of Rossendale, Councillor June Forshaw, is busy arranging for 200 pensioners to visit Liverpool - all for just £1 per person.
Coun Forshaw is chairman of Rawtenstall Public Welfare Committee and this will be the ninth year she has organised an outing for pensioners.
Anyone who would like to go on the trip on September 15 should book a place at Rawtenstall Unitarian Church.
Four coaches will leave for the future City of Culture from Harvey Longworth Court in Crawshawbooth; Kay Street, Rawtenstall; St James the Less Church, Burnley Road, Rawtenstall; and Cherry Crescent, Balladen, Rawtenstall.
The mayor is also appealing to business people to donate prizes for a raffle to cover the cost of the trip.
Prizes can be left at the neighbourhood office in Rawtenstall.
