RE the letters from your recent correspondents Mr Bracewell and Mr Fielding on the 'Pulpit being no place for Politics.'
Please gentlemen come on. As a past Christian member of the Church of the Redeemer, Shadsworth, and now Christ Church, Grimshaw Park, I believe an inclusion of relevant politics enhances and makes for a meaningful sermon.
You cannot separate the 'Living God' who is personified in the person and example of the Lord Jesus, from anything we say or do, politics or religion, any more than you can separate 'God' from the air we breathe.
But I know what you mean gentlemen, when Bishops advise who 'we' should vote for.
That is entirely a choice and preference for the individual and their own conscience.
KEN ROBINSON, Penshaw Close, Blackburn.
