I WAS recently booked for parking my car outside my own home by an over-vigilant officer ,who I am sure, did not look at the sign.
Why? Because the sign was placed on a single yellow line with the arrow pointing to the double yellow lines three yards down.
There is a much more tolerant attitude in the Isle of Man where I never saw a speed camera, but everyone seemed to observe the speed limit.
Incidentally, the disabled parking bays there carry a £500 fine if you are caught parking without a blue badge.
They have their priorities right, unlike here where any motorist can park alongside a dropped kerb preventing wheelchair access for the ones who are most in need of easy access.
Ah, well, that's our selfish English attitude.
