A TEENAGE shop worker was punched in the face during an armed raid on an Unsworth convenience store.
Cash, cigarettes and phone cards were stolen from Dillons in Sunny Bank Road, when three masked robbers stormed the shop armed with baseball bats and knives.
It is the second time this year that the store has been targeted by armed raiders.
Shortly before 10pm on Sunday (Aug 22), three men wearing balaclavas burst into the store, threatened staff and forced them to hand over money from the tills, cigarettes and phone cards. The raiders put the goods into black bin-bags and punched a 17-year-old male employee in the face before running out of the shop.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information about the offenders is asked to contact the CID at Bury on 0161 856 8247 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
