THREE more post offices in Burnley will close permanently - and another two could follow soon, it was revealed today.
Briercliffe Road, Queen Victoria Road and Queensgate will shut as part of a national programme, the Post Office announced.
Two others, Brunshaw and Oxford Road, could also close, but are still under consideration.
Local residents led by former mayor Irene Cooney had vehemently fought to save the Queen Victoria Road branch.
The news comes just weeks after the Post Office confirmed another seven branches - two in Burnley and five in Pendle - will shut following a period of public consultation.
In Burnley Accrington Road Post Office and Stoneyholme Post Office will close next month.
