SHAKERS boss Graham Barrow has been running the rule over Preston North End youngster Kelvin Langmead.
The big striker is highly rated by the Deepdale club who loaned him out to Carlisle United for a spell last season.
The Cumbrians were keen to take him to Brunton Park on a season-long loan this term but the player turned down their offer.
"I like the look of the lad and I think we could do with another option up front," added Barrow.
"Especially, with Graeme Jones out with a calf problem we could do with a bigger, stronger option up front.
"The games are coming thick and fast now the season is up and running and we want to be in a good position after ten games.
"We'll have to see what can be done."
