PLEASED as punch with the plumber and full of joy with the work of the joiner? If so, then Whitefield man Paul Newman wants to hear from you.

He has just launched a new dot.com company which will feature firms within the building trade which have been personally rated by satisfied customers.

Paul wants to celebrate and not denigrate the trade which has been tarnished in such TV programmes as House of Horrors and Builders from Hell.

His newly-launched www.houseofdreams.org.uk website will highlight building companies whose work has been praised by the punters.

Paul (42), of Peveril Close, has spent around six months painstakingly putting together the detailed and informative website.

Now, he is anxious for members of the public to add their testimonies drawing attention to firms which have been voted as being among the best in the building trade.

The businessman has a background of 26 years within the retail trade. He served in the motor trade and was involved in car sales for the past 19 years before deciding to launch his own business. He knows only too well that the public are quick to complain about companies rather than compliment them.

At www.houseofdreams.org.uk contractors will be star rated. Those featured can pay to have their reviews on-line and can also also purchase a graphic which can be fitted on their vans.

Initially, though, he wants customers to nominate companies for inclusion on the website.

Explained Paul: "What I really need is for people to go on to the web site and write reviews about good companies they've used.

"For a number of months, I've been involved in the website's development and now it's up and running."

www.houseofdreams.org.uk also contains a number of related pages embracing various aspects of the building trade. There are sections on makeovers, planning permission, building regulations as well as health and safety.
