AN eagle-eyed policeman alerted firefighters to the roof of a Radcliffe chip shop where it appeared someone was rolled up in a carpet.
Firefighters from Whitefield and Bury arrived at the scene, on Bridgefield Street, in the early hours of Saturday (Aug 21) and climbed onto the roof to investigate.
But on closer inspection, and after some careful prodding, the bundle turned out to be a bumpy duvet with no-one inside.
