A BUSINESSMAN has been warned he could be facing jail after a road smash the morning after the night before.
Burnley Magistrates Court heard how Gary Kay, 41, was four times the drink-driving limit when he ploughed into a parked vehicle, injuring two adults and two children. The four were taken to hospital after the crash on Westgate, Burnley.
Kay, of Royle Lane, Crow Wood, Burnley, admitted driving with excess alcohol. His case was adjourned until September 24 for a pre-sentence report. The court was told Kay gave a breath test reading of 143 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35.
Deputy District Judge Rose told Kay the offence was serious and Kay was likely to go to prison.
