Blackburn Rovers have welcomed a second Norwegian import to Ewood Park...but this time on the terraces instead of the pitch.

Just days after winger Morten Garnst Pederson put pen to paper for the club he was joined in the town by fellow countryman and Blackburn Rovers fan Jonas Danilsen.

Jonas, 19, touched down in the country on Friday after travelling specially from his home in Mo I Rana in central Norway to watch Rovers' Premiership clash with Manchester United.

And Jonas, who stayed at the Fox and Grapes pub, Preston New Road, told how the visit was his first ever to the town despite being a Rovers fan for nearly a decade.

The Norwegian Supporters Branch member said: "Ewood Park is amazing and was just what I dreamed of.

"I was told that Blackburn was an old working town but it is very nice and I would like to thank everyone at the Fox and Grapes for being so welcoming."

Jonas, who was flying back to Norway today, said he started following Rovers when Norwegian international Lars Bohinen was at the club in the mid-1990s

He added: "I have been a big supporter for nearly 10 years.

"I was a great fan of Lars Bohinen when he was at Nottingham Forest so when he signed for Blackburn I was totally happy following them.

"The most bad point in my supporting career was when we got relegated but I kept following for two years and they got up again."

Jonas has also revealed how the rest of his home nation are also Premiership crazy. He said: "We have very many Norwegians interested in English football.

"We have all the games live on television so I am able to watch all the games especially when Rovers are on."

Peter Shaw, landlord of the Fox and Grapes, said: "Jonas found me on the internet and phoned up about three weeks ago. I thought it was a joke at first but Jonas is welcome to stay here any time."
