CONTROVERSIAL plans to build 50 homes on land in Bawhead Road, Earby, will be discussed by councillors tonight.
Pendle Council's West Craven Committee will hear the outline application from the authority to build on the land known as Springfield.
The council-owned land has been earmarked for housing for many years as part of the authority's local plan.
However, the plans, which are recommended for approval, have caused uproar among residents in the town who say the proposed development would cause traffic chaos, increase risk of flooding and threaten village life.
Last week more than 100 angry residents attended a public meeting to have their say on the resubmitted application, which proposes access to the site be from Bailey Street.
In February original plans which identified Bawhead Road as the access point were shelved to allow consideration for alternative access points.
The meeting at the Baptist Church Centre, Manchester Road, Barnoldswick, starts at 7pm.
