THE FUTURE of Children's health services and new conservation areas are among the issues to be discussed at a meeting in Ramsbottom next week.

The meeting of the Ramsbottom, Tottington and North Manor Area Board is to be held on Tuesday, September 7, at Christchurch Neighbourhood Centre, Great Eaves Road, Ramsbottom, from 7pm.

There will be presentations on new licensing laws and Bury Council's policy for implementing the legislation, the scrutiny of Children's Health Services for the area including the suggested closure of Fairfield's baby unit and changes to maternity services.

The public will also be consulted on two new proposed conservation areas for Ramsbottom.

In addition there will be the usual 45 minute open forum where members of the public are invited to raise any concerns or questions about the area.

Reports on highways and police issues as well as a report from area co-ordinator Kim Griffiths will also be on the packed agenda.

Everyone is welcome at the meeting but anyone who is unable to attend or has a matter to raise outside the meeting can contact Kim Griffiths on 01204 880457, by email on k.griffiths@bury.gov.uk or by post at Room 3b, Town Hall, Knowsley Street, Bury BL9 0SW.
