STUART Law is ready to help Lancashire in their battle to avoid relegation, starting today against Surrey at Old Trafford.
Law made a dramatic return from injury with 73 from 72 balls in the totesport League clash with the same opposition on Tuesday.
His inning included trademark cuts and cover drives, indicating that he is near his best despite six weeks out with a series of injuries.
"I was relived just to get out of the house, off the couch and back playing cricket," said Law.
"It's been hard to take going from one injury to another so to get back out in the middle was good. I wasn't the most fluent between the wickets but then again I never have been."
The Australian hasn't featured in a Championship game since the end June and he has found it difficult looking on from the dressing room as the side have slipped down the table.
"I've been playing cricket so long now, and you can't change the course of the game sitting in the dressing room all day," he said.
When Lancashire and Surrey last met in the Championship, at Whitgift School, the London team thrashed the Red Rose side by an innings.
