Silsden 2 Padiham 3

PADIHAM moved back to the top of the table last night after a hard-fought win at Cougar Park against Yorkshire opponents Silsden.

Trailing 1-0 to a sixth minute headed goal by James Nettleton from a corner, it took Padiham 30 minutes to get back on level terms when Denny Khan headed in a well-worked free kick by the Storks to make it all square at half-time.

Neil Almond put Padiham ahead in the 55th minute, scoring with an acute angled shot after running onto a Dave Leigh free kick.

Lee Anderson increased the Storks' lead to 3-1 seven minutes later with an absolute screamer from 35 yards out that dipped in over the head of Silsden keeper Martin Foulger with the help of the underside of the crossbar.

Jimmy Hedges' 77th minute header from yet another corner gave Silsden a chance to get back in the game but at the final whistle Padiham still led 3-2 to collect the points.
