IT'S a Knockout will be coming to Rossendale later this month.

Rossendale Borough Council has organised the event in conjunction with community groups, including Community Futures, Rossendale Community Cohesion, Bacup and Stacksteads Partnership, and Rossendale Leisure Trust.

The event, to be held at Marl Pits Sports Complex, in Newchurch Road, Rawtenstall, is planned to be a family day out with gates opening at 11.30am on September 11.

There will be 18 teams of adults and youths made up of 10 members each to complete in a unique version of It's a Knockout.

There will be other attractions on the day, including inflatable rides, creative artists, 'make and take' workshops, a community fundraising marquee, a selection of refreshment stalls, and Rossendale Sports Club will be open to serve refreshments throughout the day.

There will be a park-and-ride service, with a regular shuttle bus to, and from, the venue to take competitors and visitors to the event.

Details of where the bus service will be running are to be published at a later date.
