A HOLIDAY bible school for Blackburn youngsters has proved so popular it will replace a church's long-running Sunday school.
The JAFFA club - Jesus A Friend For All - at St Barnabas Church, Johnston Street, has captured the imagination of kids with its fun approach to learning about God.
And it has attracted around 20 children every Tuesday morning, which has delighted volunteer Beverley Barton
She said: "Some of us decided it would be a good idea to create a holiday club because everything tends to stop in the summer and children get bored. We're now going to kill off our Sunday school, which has been running for 18 years, and continue with JAFFA."
The children, aged five to 11, play games and quizzes, all with an underlying moral message. And the 12- to 14-year-olds help out with the register and run a tuck shop.
Reverend Canon Herrick Daniel added: "The club helps out parents because they're not being pestered all the time and the kids like it because they get to take part in fun activities. "
