FOSTER carers are still needed to look after teenagers despite a successful recruiting campaign.
Bury Council's family placement team is delighted that, since the launch in May, 60 people have asked for an information pack.
This response was so good that the team has had to organise two sets of preparation sessions, starting this month, for 18 potential new carers.
However, the council is still looking to plug the gaps.
Diana Powell, family placement team manager, said: "Although we have had a wonderful response from local people, there is still a need for more foster carers, especially for children of secondary school age.
"More carers are also needed who have the energy and the space in their home to look after groups of brothers and sisters so that they do not have to be separated."
