Manchester Titans...1 Stand Athletic...5: IN a scrappy opening 20 minutes the Titans disrupted the discipline which Stand are trying to instill into their young team.

The long ball from the left is exactly what the management are trying to dissuade, but Paul Walsh's towering leap sent a looping far post header over and across Russell Wood into the top left hand corner of Titan's goal.

Walsh then nabbed a real poacher's goal to give Latics a 2-0 half time lead and, later still, a striker's goal to transform a potentially dangerous 3-1 into a match-winning 4-1.

While he was recording a largely self-fashioned hat-trick, Stand goalkeeper Hassall was posting an alternative hat-trick at the opposite end.

Two one-on-one saves and another from a penalty were a major factor in preserving the visitor's dominance,

while headed goals from Phil Smith and Adam Dickinson either side of Walsh's third ensured an emphatic victory.

Tomorrow Latics travel to Milton before entertaining Elton Vale at Elms Park on Tuesday night.
