I AGREE more with correspondent Mr Mann than with council leader John Byrne (Letters, August 27) regarding Fairfield Hospital and problems associated with it.
Only a fool would have failed to see that a new hospital at Fairfield would face a legion of problems, particularly over access. Rochdale Old Road is a B-road and was never intended to carry the volume of traffic associated with a general hospital.
Will Coun Byrne be Fairfield's champion? Only time will tell.
