TAKING an interest beyond the profit margin has led to the chief executive of United Utilities receiving a top award.
John Roberts has received the HRH Prince of Wales's Ambassador Award from Business in the Community.
He was given the accolade for being "an outstanding individual who has shown leadership and personal commitment to the issues and the practice of corporate responsibility."
The presentation was made at Business in the Community's annual awards at which his company also received an award for its work on sustainable catchment management. He was presented with an oak tree sapling.
Mr Roberts said: "Corporate responsibility is extremely important to United Utilities and is an area we devote a great deal of time and resource to."
