BLACKBURN is preparing itself for an invasion later this month when five of Canada's most up and coming alternative rock acts head into town.
Parallel 49 is the tour which will play at the Cellar Bar on Saturday, September 18 -- one of only five dates in the UK.
Under the banner Canada Comes Calling, the tour will feature The Marble Index, The Miniatures, Pilate, The Lowest of the Low and Hunter Eves.
The Marble Index have recently supported both Powderfinger and The Pixies have been invited to support the Pixies again on a tour of Canada later this year.
The Miniatures are a five-piece from Ontario and their recently-released debut album, Coma Kid, has been gaining them plenty of attention.
The four-piece Pilate and Lowest of the Low from Toronto will both be touring the UK for the first time.
The fifth act on the roster, Hunter Eves is described as a cross between Kate Bush and Led Zeppelin.
