ACCRINGTON Stanley manager John Coleman has urged supporters vote to with their feet and swell the stadium.

Attendances haven't been as good as the club had anticipated at the beginning of a promising new season following the Reds' decision to turn full-time.

Home gates have yet to hit the coveted 2,000 mark at the Interlink Express Stadium.

But Coleman is hoping people will come out in droves to get behind his team on the back of two impressive wins at home to Crawley Town and away to York City.

And he believes not applying for a top managerial post elsewhere could also provide encouragement.

"I've officially ruled myself out of the running for the Newcastle job," he smiled.

"To be honest, the crowd was very disappointing last week, considering we'd won two out of the first three.

"I know the Blackburn game might have hit it a little bit but the players do respond to a good atmosphere and a big crowd.

"If you think back to when we were getting 1,700 against Colwyn Bay on a Wednesday night in the UniBond, now we're a top three side in the Conference.

"I know the price has gone up but if the fans come then I'm sure they'll be entertained."

Tomorrow's opponents Woking have struggled to hit top form at the beginning of the new campaign. But, after Stanley's 5-0 defeat at Stevenage, Coleman is not prepared to count his chickens when it comes to their opponents' run of results.

"I wouldn't read too much into their start because the last team we saw as not having the best of starts was Stevenage and we got beat 5-0," he said.

"Woking came to our place last year and for 20 minutes they were awesome and had us on the back foot.

"I think, on their day, they are capable of beating anybody. So I wouldn't think in any way that they are a weakened side.

"In fact, I would imagine they will finish in the top half or even threatening for the play-offs."

Stanley were hoping to have defender Peter Cavanagh and Steve Halford fit for tomorrow's game (kick-off 3pm) after both picked up knocks.

Halford was forced to sit out Tuesday's 1-0 win at York.

STANLEY reserves travel to take on Workington tonight.
