COLLECT Britain (www.collectbritain.co.uk) is a new site launched by the British Museum that brings over 100,000 images and sounds to the internet.

The site contains carefully selected the maps, manuscripts, topographical drawings, photographs and rare sound recordings.

There are even long-forgotten advertisements and music-hall songs that chart the changing face of Britain.

Using a very clear and simple design the site provides themed tours including a look at Durham's Prince Bishops and even gardening through the ages.

It is a website that will appeal to many and is sure to provide hours of browsing for visitors.

MICROSOFT has launched its MSN Music service at the same time as gadget manufacturers launch products that will integrate with it. The devices will allow people to play music, video and TV shows and use Microsoft's Media Player software, which works with its new music service.

Companies have produced the small hand-held devices as the attraction of being able to play your favourite music tracks or watch video clips grows. Names such as Samsung have developed the players that allow you to store hours of video and up to 9,000 songs.

IF you are a fan of eBay and spend hours searching for your favourite musicians or interesting books to bid on, the fatfingers site is for you.

The site (www.fatfingers.co.uk) tracks down misspellings of items so that you can bid on them and hopefully get a good price.

It is a great idea and one to place in your favourites folder.
