WORKMEN have been putting poetry in motion on the water feature in Prestwich.
The contractors put the finishing touches to the glass and granite structure by engraving students' poetry into the stone.
The granite and glass structure in the Longfield Centre was cordoned off last Thursday (Sept 2) to allow contractors to work on the project.
A spokesman for Bury Council said the cordon was put in place as a matter of health and safety due to the dust caused by sandblasting.
Children from local primary and secondary schools, plus members of the Creative Living Centre in Prestwich were asked to produce poetry based on the idea of "The Retreat", which is the name of the water feature.
The idea was to include the poetry so people could read it while enjoying a sit down.
