LEIGH Athletic progressed through the first round of the Lancashire County Cup with an easy 4-0 win over Lancashire Amateur side Little Lever.
After indifferent early season form the management team have turned to youth and in the last two games have been handsomely rewarded.
Leigh controlled the game throughout and goals from Phil Sheehan, Danny Wilson, Neil Sumner and Neil Clayton were scant reward for their superiority. Joe Bloxam and Andy Miller were again outstanding.
This followed a comprehensive 6-0 win over Breightmet in midweek. Goals fom Bloxam, Lewis, Sheehan, Clayton, Wilcox and Dando.
The reserves won 4-1 at Breightmet with goals coming from Prescott (2), Wilkinson and Sheppard.
The third team continued their good start with a 5-2 win, on target Edwards (2), Paxford (2) and Ben.
