ALTHOUGH not a Lancastrian by birth, I have lived in the county for the last 33 years and can understand the anger over the proposed changes in the Army which might lead to either the loss of our dilution of the QLR.
I remember well having the same feelings in the sixties when my own county lost entirely its Royal Norfolk Regiment title -- along with many others at that time.
If swingeing cuts in defence spending are to be avoided it is important not to have a Labour Government.
Since the end of the last war the good people of Lancashire have helped to elect one.
