A ROSSENDALE businessman is set to be treated to a slap up meal after passing his computer driving test.

Paul Shaw, managing director of Drury Adams, a foam product manufacture based in Bacup, was the 200th person to gain a European Computer Driving Licence from the Kingfisher Learn Direct Centre, Rawtenstall.

Paul was presented with a special bottle of champagne and a voucher entitling him to a meal at The Dining Room, Rawtenstall.

He said: "I decided to go on the ECDL course because I wanted to get more out of my computer and I wanted to set the right example among the staff at work.

"I thought the whole course was excellent.

" It will be really useful in the future."

Ann Bingham, of the Learn Direct Centre, Burnley Road, said: "The ECDL has been wonderfully popular in the three years we have been running it.

"When we realised we had reached the 200 pass mark we felt we should do something special to mark it.

"It can help people advance their job prospects and it is also used by people who simply want to learn more about computers.

"It's also a useful tool for businesses and other organisations who want to ensure all their staff are trained to the same high standard."
