ACCRINGTON Stanley have snapped up defender Mike Flynn from Coca-Cola League One side Blackpool, writes SUZANNE GELDARD.
The 35-year-old has been signed on a free transfer for the remainder of this season and the season after.
And chairman Eric Whalley revealed that the club was also seeking to extend the loan spell of young Everton centre back Anthony Gerrard after some impressive performances this month.
With regard to Flynn, Whalley said: "We have got to be pleased about the signing. Hopefully he will fit in nicely with the younger players we have got and hopefully his experience can get us to where we want to be."
Manager John Coleman, who had been chasing Flynn's signature for several months, added: "He will bring a bit of experience, leadership and good defensive qualities to the side."
