PLANS for a new equestrian centre in the heart of the Ribble Valley have moved a step closer.
Revised proposals for 20 stables, an indoor arena and a manager's house were deferred by Ribble Valley councillors at a meeting of the authority's planning committee.
Submitted by Wigan-based Chestnut Equestrian Centre, the plans centred on a large site next to Northcote Manor, in Northcote Road, Langho.
The application was deferred to the director of development services but councillors were minded to approve the plans subject to conditions including a restriction on the use of the riding facilities and the development being completed before anyone moved into the manager's house.
Langho Parish Council had earlier raised a number of concerns.
But the new plans will see the centre built around 120m from Northcote Manor and 50m from the road with car parking spaces for around 24 vehicles.
