MILK floats have been given the all-clear to drive past a Nelson school as youngsters arrive for class.
Mohammed Aszal appealed to Pendle Council to remove restrictions on his family delivery business in Norfolk Street - which prevents it from operating between 8am and 9am, 3pm and 4pm and 9pm and 6.30am.
Members of Nelson area committee had feared for the safety of pupils going to Lomeshaye Primary School over increased traffic.
Chairman of school governors, Sheila Wicks, was among those to speak again
st revoking restrictions at last night's meeting. And Coun Colin Waite added: "The restrictions were put down and I have seen nothing yet that has changed.
"Yes, there may be businesses that have operated there for years without restrictions but this was a new business and the committee has looked at it on a number of occasions.
"We have put on conditions for the safety of the children attending the school."
But committee chairman David Foster said he visited the area recently and the addition of milk floats would make no difference to traffic problems.
Councillors voted to remove the daytime restrictions and place a new restriction on operating between 10pm and 6am.
