IT won't be just Rossendale's footballing skills that go under the microscope tonight.
New manager Mark Molyneaux will be assessing his players' mental toughness too.
After a creditable draw at Colwyn Bay, Rossendale failed to benefit from a two-week break and crashed out of the FA Trophy at Belper on Saturday, losing 3-0.
So Molyneaux is looking for a rapid response against high flying Kidsgrove.
"After Saturday, everyone's position could be under the spotlight," the player-boss said.
"We've got a decent bunch of lads but we need to work on organisation, fitness and mental strength.
"The lads have had some hidings, results wise, over the past six weeks and things like that affect people differently.
"But if we can get a couple of wins under our belt it could do wonders for their confidence."
He added: "We haven't got a right to win at the moment.
"It's going to take five or six games to get what we require.
"The break did us good because we worked on our fitness.
"Now the games will come thick and fast and that will show us who will be a weak link in the side."
