CAN I say to "Disgusted, Unsworth" (Letters, September 24) that his is the typical reaction of someone who doesn't take responsibility for their actions.
The pavement is a safe area for pedestrians, whether they are able bodied or wheelchair-bound. It is not for cars to park on.
What his son did is illegal and he has to pay the price for breaking the law. Using the justification of "the hazard caused when children are being dropped off at the local school" is very shaky. Being a lazy driver might be nearer the truth.
So, I suggest "Disgusted" tells his son to pay the fine and not to park on the pavement. It would be a great lesson for him in taking responsibility for his actions.
