A RESPECTED head teacher died at home last night, at the age of 51.
Peter Keegan had been head at St Alban's RC Primary School, in Trinity Street, Blackburn, since 1998. He also taught at St Anne's and St Joseph's RC Primary School, in Sandy Lane, Accrington.
He leaves his wife and five daughters. The death was reported to the Blackburn coroner today.
Mr Keegan had a reputation for always putting the welfare of youngsters first.
Elaine Richards, head at St Anne's and St Joseph's, said: "It has been a great shock. Peter was a friend to all and much loved and respected. All of us who knew him, governors, staff, and pupils are united in grief at the sad news."
