THREE weeks on, an armed gang who abducted a bank manager and his family and held them hostage for 14 hours is still at large.
A fresh appeal for information into the terrifying ordeal has been made by detectives from Greater Manchester Police's Organised Crime Unit which has taken over the investigation.
The gang kidnapped John Diggle, aged 45, his wife and two daughters from their Leigh home at around 8pm on Tuesday September 21.
Det Insp Steve George said: "These offenders are extremely dangerous men who must be caught and brought to justice.
"I would again appeal for anyone with information about the incident or anyone who recognises the description of the men to come forward."
One man is described as white, between 30 and 40 years old and 5ft 6ins.
The second man is described as white, 5ft 8ins, of stocky build.
Both men worse beards which were possibly false, black wigs and suit, shirt and tie.
Anyone with any information about the incident should now contact the Serious and Organised Crime Group on 0161 856 6427 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
