SECOND string boss Mark Yates described last night's sorry stalemate with Bury as "after the Lord Mayor's Show".
Burnley went in search of their first win of the season following last week's impressive draw at Manchester United but the Clarets caused few ripples of excitement as their second home game of the season fizzled out into a second successive 0-0.
"I really think it was a case of after the Lord Mayor's Show," insisted Yates. "Last week we set our standards, but we never really got anywhere near them against Bury.
"I can't think of many chances in the game and we need to be better than that. I've told the lads that when it was Manchester United, everyone got themselves up for the game.
"But you can't just turn it on when you want and expect to win just because it's Bury at home.
"We just weren't mentally focused the same and we never settled into any pattern.
"It was a horrible game and I think most of the fans watching probably thought the same."
