DETERMINED residents whose homes fall within the Redearth Street clearance area in Darwen have a solicitor and barrister to fight their case.
Christine Oldfield, chairman of Darwen Resident's Action Group, today revealed that the residents were well on their way to putting their case at a public inquiry.
Members of the council's executive committee decided to demolish 149 house in the Redearth Street area because they had been deemed unfit for habitation.
But residents claim that they have survey reports to show their homes are not unfit and they believe the council is only demolishing their homes to make way for other development.
Christine said: "We haven't given up the fight. We are busy writing letters and getting paperwork together for a public inquiry.
"We have a solicitor and barrister and we are still campaigning."
