WORSHIPPERS will be filling Bury with the sound of music on October 23 to help raise £1m for a Christian community project.
Visitors to Bolton Road Methodist Church will be joining hundreds of singers across the world in the 'Big Sing' to raise money for the Iona Community Growing Hope Appeal.
Based in Glasgow, the Iona community aims to raise enough cash to refurbish the Camas Centre on the Isle of Mull, used by youngsters living on the edge of society.
It also plans to improve the welcome visitors receive at the Isle of Iona by building a coffee shop close to the abbey and develop more ways to inform them about community life.
Tickets will cost £5 and the Big Sing kicks off at 2pm, finishing at 5.30pm. It will be led by Emily Walker, a resident musician at Iona Abbey, with a Tooti Flooti flute ensemble.
