OFFICIAL statistics show that Burnley don't warrant their 'boring' tag.
Critics have branded Steve Cotterill's Clarets as negative following their watertight start to the campaign.
They have conceded just seven league goals in 12 games - the best record bar Swansea City outside the top flight.
Yet Cotterill insists his side are creating as many chances as their opponents, citing the last away game at Reading as a prime example.
And closer scrutiny shows that TEN teams in the Championship have generated fewer chances.
So far this season, Burnley have had 65 shots on target and 57 off target. In comparison, Reading, who would have remained as league leaders had they beaten Burnley last time out, have only mustered 56 on target and 48 off.
Wigan Athletic lead the way in the division, with a whopping 181 efforts on goal and tomorrow's opponents Ipswich have 97 shots on target on their way to becoming the league's leading goalscorers.
