AFTER stocking up on some well-earned rest following a summer which can only be described as manic, Paul Taylor hits the road again this weekend to help his night celebrate its 15th birthday.
Retro, his classic old school night which grew out of the last hour of the old Angels nightclub, in Burnley, has gone from strength to strength over the last decade and a half.
Next month's 15th birthday parties are set to take place at all the night's monthly residencies -- but Paul says none will be as special as the one thrown in Burnley.
He's there tomorrow night for his monthly Retro set at Club XS in Burnley before ensuring November goes with a bang.
"When we set out, we never had any plans to go on for a certain period of time, or go to certain clubs, or whatever," said Paul. "We just wanted to continue what we had created at Angels but obviously couldn't do there because it had been pulled down.
"No matter where we go, there are always familiar faces in the crowd, Angelheads we call them.
"We've had a mad summer, setting up in Ibiza, the Greek Islands, Majorca as well as doing the regular stuff over here.
"We did our first gig in Burnley for years in the summer too, which has led to the monthly night at XS.
"It's great to be back We have a loyal following that travel anywhere to see us, as well as new people coming on all the time.
"It's all about playing the quality tunes which either were big in Angels or would have been had the club still been around.
"Some tunes people will know from the charts, others people will grow to love.
"Hopefully, as many people will travel to the birthday ones as possible to make them extra special."
The fun kicks off on Friday, November 5 with a party at The Syndicate in Blackpool.
Along with Paul, Fubar will be on the decks accompanied with a live PA from K-Klass.
It's over to Halifax the following night, November 6, for an all nighter at The Tube.
Marshall Jefferson, Ray Davies and Rhianna join Paul for a night which runs from 8pm until 8am!
On Saturday, November 13, the Retro Residents hold a birthday party at North-East superclub Tall Trees in Yarm, Middlesbrough.
Paul will do five hours there, along with Jay-Lee Lloyd, Ray Davies and Rhianna.
On November 20, also a Saturday, the party arrives at XS in Burnley with Paul promising a set running from 9pm until 3am.
And on Saturday, November 27, things finish off at Foundation in Wakefield. Jeremy Healy headlines, with Paul joined also by Neil Metzner and Jay-Lee Lloyd.
