PEOPLE living in a Colne street claimed they were "second-class citizens"' after losing their fight against a flats scheme.
Residents of Atkinson Street said plans for a three-storey block of apartments on land off Hagg Street would spoil the area and that Pendle councillors had turned down a similar scheme recently.
But Colne and District Area Committee gave Holme Park Developments permission for the 18-flat scheme and said the developers had made enough concessions.
Speaking after the meeting, resident Eric Crimmins said: "You can't do it on Keighley Road so why is it allowed on Atkinson Street? Are we second class citizens?"
Colne councillors deferred a decision on the plans last month to hold a meeting between residents and developers.
