A TYLDESLEY resident is fuming over the announcement of the closure of Tyldesley baths.

Like many others he claims that the town has been forgotten since it was taken under the wing of Wigan.

He says the boxing club will be the next to go to make way for flats and he hopes a better type of person will be installed in them than in those near the market.

The 63-years-old, born and bred in the town, writes: "We are frightened to shop in Tyldesley because of these flats. The tenants hang through the windows throwing stones at cars, swearing and playing loud music.

He says all there is in Bongs is pubs, clubs and takeaways and older people daren't go out after 9pm at weekends because of drunken yobs.

He says the pavements are a disgrace, half the shops are boarded up or are falling down and the welcome new clinic now looks like an overgrown jungle at the back.

But then the marked point is that he feels it's no use complaining to the council.

Oh yes it is. The more noise that is made the more chance there is of something being done.
