A £7 MILLION industrial development is being planned in Leyland which could create up to 400 jobs for the town.
Development company Hurstwood Group has bought a six-acre site at Centurion Park capable of accommodating 110,000sq ft.
Hurstwood has submitted a planning application for range of units from 2,800sq ft to 23,000sq ft and is already in negotiations with one prospective tenant.
"While this deal is good news for the Hurstwood Group, it is also great news for Leyland," said Hurstwood property director Jonathan Conway.
"When all Hurstwood phases are complete, the development has the potential to be home to more than 400 jobs."
Work on the site, off Wheelton Lane, is due to start in January 2005.
