JIM Henderson scored his sixth win in seven attempts but the Lancashire Road Club's annual Rake hill climb record at Ramsbottom still eludes him.
The Southport rider, who will be defending his national hill climb title in Northumberland on October 31, was an easy winner in 2min 23.5sec, but was well outside the record of 2-14 set by Jeff Wright.
Runner-up Neil Swithbank, of ABC, was almost 10 seconds adrift, while France-based rider David Clarke was third in 2-33.7 and Chester's Stephen Feeney fourth in 2-34.7. The fastest vet was West Pennine's John Hey 2-48.7, while the home club's first rider home was their champion Paul Shallicker in 2-58.7.
Despite suffering from flu Angela Hunter, the national 10 and 50 mile champion, from Hyde, won the ladies event in 3.34. The U18s was won by Andrew Jones of Royal Dean Forest, in 3-28.9, while there was a local winner in the U16s as Rossendale's Ben Treanor claimed the title, recording 3-21.3.
Blackburn CTC won the team event.
