SICK children at Burnley Hospital received a special visitor.
Mayor of Burnley Coun Margaret Lishman and her consort Anne Kelly went to see the work of the children's high dependency unit which will benefit from the mayor's charity fund this year.
The mayor met staff and acting chief executive of East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust Richard Gildert. The mayor said: "We chose the equipping of the high dependency room so that it would directly benefit Burnley residents. The equipment will mean children needing one to one nursing can be treated nearer their homes."
