PENDLE MP Gordon Prentice has called for tough penalties for illegal gun dealers.
He spoke out in the House of Commons following the shooting of 14-year-old Danielle Beccan in Nottingham and an estimate by Manchester Police that those involved in gun crime in the city had an average life expectancy of 24.
He said the current sentence of five years for illegal gun dealing was inadequate.
He added: "Surely we need to come down like a ton of bricks on those who supply illegal firearms."
