WORKSHOPS will be run over half term to kick racism out of football thanks to extra funding at Blackburn Rovers.
The Rovers education department has been awarded a £1,000 Community Chest Grant from Kick It Out, football's anti-racism campaign, and the Football Foundation, the UK's largest sports charity.
The cash has been awarded as part of the national anti-racism week of action in football and will help fund workshops discussing racism and cultural diversity.
The project will also include visits to local mosques and Blackburn Cathedral. The fourth annual week of action will run until October 26 to celebrate the contribution made to football by members of ethnic minorities, while reinforcing the call for equality.
