CORONATION Street character Les Battersby has been in the dock once again this week, but this time, he was on the right side of the law!
Actor Bruce Jones has officially opened Greater Manchester Police Museum's latest attraction, a 109-year-old courtroom .
The courtroom, which was originally based at the old Denton police station, heard cases of drunk and disorderly, larceny and assault from 1895 to 1979.
It has taken eight months to move and restore the courtroom to its original standard and it is hoped it will provide a useful resource for historians, school parties and police officers for training purposes.
The museum is based at the old Newton Street station in Manchester. It is open to the public on Tuesdays from 10.30am to 3.30pm. Group visits can be arranged by appointment on 0161 856 3287.
